Literally this is the best thing that's ever happened. I'm just happy that it's recorded. It still blows my mind that I got to see them each perform, let alone together.

A quick note. There were tonssss of people who looked incredible last night, right? Who were your favorites? I've generally steered towards the simpler outfits, and this one Samantha Barks is WORKING by Valentino takes the cake for me this year. She looked incredible, right?
And obviously Jennifer Lawrence looked ridiculously gorgeous in Dior! She literally can do no wrong!
So then I hope you understand my disappointment and heartbreak when I saw this number on Brandi Glanville...
Girlfriend...I think you need to pull up your dress. It slipped down a little.
PS- why are you at the Oscars? Just wondering.
In general, though, I thought the Oscars were amazing! My love has only grown for Jennifer Lawrence. Girlfriend tripped walking up the stairs in her Dior dress to receive her first Oscars and her speech was so good!
Obviously, Anne Hathaway was going to win Best Supporting Actress. Yawn. She was happy. I get it.
The dancing/singing acts? Jennifer Hudson? Adele? Seth Macfarlane singing "Saw Your Boobs"? LOVED IT.
Obviously, after having seen Les Miserables (and falling deeply for Eddie Redmayne, duh) twice, I wanted Les Mis to win Best Picture. So even though it didn't win, I was still so excited for Ben Affleck. Doesn't he seem so nice to y'all?
What did everyone else think? I stayed up until 5:00 am in London watching, but I'm so glad I did!

We all have those photos of celebrities/randoms that we've seen online or in a magazine and instantly loved. We wanted to style everything about ourselves after this one picture, whether it's the way we do our hair, the clothes we wear, or the attitude whoever it is in the photo exudes.
For me, I have plenty of those photos. I keep an "inspiration" file on my laptop so that if I'm ever feeling down, I can go to it and pick myself back up. As for style, this photo of Ashley Olsen made me want to be a watch-wearer. I've never worn watches, and when I tried to, I felt like they always looked weirdly big or small on my wrist. And even though I'm a righty, I wore the few watches I could stand on my right wrist. Very weird.
Anyway, this is the photo. Very inspiring and provacative, I know.
You see that watch on her wrist? Not the wrist that's clearly visible, I mean the one draped over her leg. The one you can barely see. That watch right there made me want a gold watch with a black face. Don't ask me why, I don't know. But since I saw that photo, maybe in 2009, I've been searching for the perfect black faced gold watch.
Her watch isn't even gold, you say? Details, people. Details.
And I've hunted hard. Once I have my mind on a certain style, it's very hard to get it off of anything else. So obviously I found this watch and needed it. It's Kate Spade, how could I not?
This watch also comes with a $225 price tag. Not really in my budget. Besides, I wasn't that much of a watch person anyway. I continued my hunt for years...until last November when I saw this baby at Target, of all places, for the low-low price of $20. And I had a $5 coupon. $15. Win.
Obviously I've been congratulatory patting myself on the back for the past few months. I'm totally a watch wearer now, and even though the battery has died and I don't know where to get a new one in London (because there's no UK equivalent of Target, which makes me die inside every week), I still wear it. I think it makes me look professional and super cool.
Please tell me y'all have had the same kind of obsession as I have? Or am I the only one? Maybe I'm just a little weird...but at least I'm on time :)

So...I did something I shouldn't have. Of all the things that I should have spent money on, this probably shouldn't have made the list. I bought a Kindle. I'd been struggling with the decision for a while, since I'm more or less constantly reading, but books in London are so expensive (and take up space in your luggage). Like my mom suggested, yes, I could have gone to a used bookstore...but I want new books. Judge me.
So now that I have this glorious little machine, I need new books to read! If anyone has any recommendations, let me know! I love reading pretty much any kinds of books. I've read everything from Jodi Piccoult to Dan Brown (Da Vinci Code), Harry Potter to 50 Shades of Grey. Yes, yes I did. All three books. Again, judge me.
Also, if anyone hasn't, check out the Goodreads app on your iPhone, Android, or iPad! You can find, rate, and list the books you've read before, then find your friends and see the books they've read! It's great for finding the right types of books for you. If you have the app, feel free to add me as a friend! I can't convince any of my friends to join in the Goodreads group, so I'd be glad to find people that have similar reading interests as me!

Hi y'all! I'm back from my trip to Dublin last weekend, and I'm so happy to be back. Not saying my trip wasn't so fun (it definitely was), but I'm a routine person. I like getting back into the groove of things.
As I was going through my Bloglovin feed (all 114 blog posts I missed over the course of 3 days!), I saw these photos of the cast from Downton Abbey! Granted, I'm a newly converted addict, and I'm still only mid-way through Season 2, but how weird is it to see them in modern clothes! They all look amazing! Especially Joanne Froggatt (in the pink).
Anna...is that you? And Thomas, you are looking good, my friend. Loo-king-good.

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for a while! Things in school and life have been a bit wonky lately, but it's getting all back together now. I'm preparing to go to Dublin this upcoming weekend - anyone who's been, if you have any recommendations, please send them along! I'm super excited! And of course I'll post pictures when I come back!
How is everyone spending their Valentine's day? I know how I'm spending it!

Since I don't have a boyfriend, wine. Since we missed National Pancake Day in the states, pancakes.
And since candy always makes things better, sweet conversation hearts from my mama. She's the best!

I saw this quote today and it really resonated with me.
Lately it seems like time has been flying. I'm only 20, but I still feel like I'm 17. I don't feel ready for anything, yet I'm so ready for everything. I'm ready to get out of college and start a job. I want to have a house, not an apartment. I want to buy furniture. I want to paint the walls of my dining room.
But at the same time, I am beyond not ready for that. I feel like everyone around me is on top of their game and planning their next step in their lives, and I'm making it up as I go. I have no idea where I want to be after college. I don't know where I'm living in 5 months. I feel like everything is being strung together at the last minute.
And that gets me stressed outsometimes a lot. I am a worrier and a planner. I like knowing what's going on next. I'm not spontaneous. Let's get burritos instead of pasta is about as spontaneous as I get. I've grown to accept that, and I'm done trying to be someone I'm not. But at the same time, is that a bad thing? It probably hasn't helped me as much as I'd like to think it has.
This quote is helping me to remember that I'm still young. I have so much ahead of me. If I try to plan every little thing in my future I'll go crazy.
It's just not going to happen.
There are going to be so many changes ahead. I just have to prepare as best I can and hope for the best.
Is anyone else on the same page?

There is a fine line between a really touching love song and an overly mushy, awful love song. I've never been one to weep over sentimental Hallmark cards or pine for someone to serenade me with love songs. It's just not for me. I get uncomfortable. I laugh or giggle when I shouldn't. It's just awkward.
I'll be my own valentine this year (cue the smallest violin in the world), but I will definitely be listening to some of these songs on Valentine's day as I eat a box of chocolates with a vase of flowers on my desk!
Do y'all have any favorite love songs? Just the Way You Are by Billy Joel has always meant a lot to me because it's my parents' song. They never had a first dance at their wedding, so I always thought I would let them have a first dance to that song at my wedding. They're just so downright adorable!

You know what's really fun? Playing a game called "let's pretend to order everything I want on the J Crew website and keep the cost a surprise." What's not fun? Realizing that everything you want on the J Crew website is not within your budget. About $4900 outside of your budget.
I was able to narrow down my favorites (down to about $1000) and I personally think they're adorable! Can you tell I'm feeling the blues and greens this summer?
I've been coveting this chambray popover since I saw it in the catalog and I think it's a worthy investment! Since my internship at home allows me to be a little more on the casual side I feel like it would go well with a pair of cute shorts or a pretty skirt!
I'm obsessed with J Crew iPhone cases! They're made with a kind of plastic that is halfway between rubber and plastic, so they're bendable, but also super durable. I've had mine for months and it hasn't broken (and neither has my phone)!
How cute is this glitter tweed skirt? It's such a perfect mix between casual and professional! And the color is PERFECT!
J Crew is always on point with their bikinis - especially with the colors and cuts! I can't get this scalloped bikini out of my mind...so it might have to be mine when I get home! I'm usually not super girly, but the scallops are a perfect girly twist to the emerald color. The paisley bikini (which is part of a collaboration with London of Liberty) is also a close second!
Even though the original scalloped Chloe flats are out of my price range, these seem perfect to me! Clearly scalloped anything will be on my radar this season :)
In the summer I pretty much live in cutoffs. From May - September I am only in cutoffs - it's my uniform. I'm super picky about jeans, but these seem like they are the perfect length and distress for my wardrobe!
Has anyone else checked out the J Crew spring line? What do you think? I'm more or less obsessed with everything. More or less.

One thing I love about my relationship with my dad is that we send music to each other. Over the years we've been able to get a sense of what the other likes, and now it seems that I end up loving anything he sends me. Even from 4,000 miles away he can still send me music that is so spot on. I love him for that, and for this video he sent me. It's such a sweet song without being mushy.

I'm a diehard Coke fan. If I could help it, another Pepsi product (besides Diet Dr. Pepper, a girl's gotta live) would not pass my lips. This Coke campaign that was done in Australia a few years ago was executed so well, and it's an amazing idea! Coke Australia produced Coke bottles with Australia's 50 most popular names printed on the labels nationwide, without issuing any kind of statement. After weeks Coke addressed these new bottles, having already produced tons of social media buzz, all independently and privately shared by their consumers! We learned about it in my PR and Sales Promotions class and the whole time we were watching the video I couldn't help but think that I wanted one!
Isn't it so smart?
Also, because I keep up with celebrity news (super cool of me, I know), I do find it kind of funny that Taylor Swift is the new spokesperson for Coke while One Direction (namely, Harry Styles) are the spokespeople for Pepsi...hmmmm

I am one of those people that cares about football. I'll admit it, I do. Like most southern college women (or to be more specific, SEC college women), I am more of a college football watcher, but I will be watching the Super Bowl this weekend, even if I have to watch it starting at 10:30 at a sports bar across town from my apartment.
But really, am I excited about either of the teams playing? Not really. What am I most excited about? BEYONCE THAT'S WHAT. I know that whole lip synching thing could ruin some people, but Beyonce is above that. Beyonce don't have time for that. She's busy being a mama, being a wife, and rehearsing for the Super Bowl. The pictures she's posted of her Super Bowl rehearsals (and the video teaser) just make me lady-love her even more. Would it be accurate to say that if I saw her I would be that annoying fan trying to sneak a pic on my iPhone? Absolutely.
Is anyone else excited about Beyonce? Even though I love Elton John, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney, and The Who, I'm so ready to have someone under the age of 50 to be performing!
PS- Check out more photos she posted here
