Back to Basics

Monday, April 22, 2013

Hi y'all! I'm back from my week of adventures with my Mom and aunt, so I'll be posting about that tomorrow. For now, this post is about...t-shirts!

I'm pretty simple when it comes to getting my outfits together. I generally like one top (sweater, button down, shell, what have you) or dress, bottoms, shoes, bag. That's all. More than that, besides a sweater over a button down (if we're getting fancy), and I get stressed out. That's why really good basics are so key to my wardrobe. I'm always on the hunt for a good basic top, the perfect jeans (skinny, but not so tight that I can't sit down), or flats.

My most recent find is the Gap Slub Baseball tee. It's seriously one of the comfiest shirts I've had in a long time, and it comes in tons of colors and patterns. Best of all, it's not too clingy or too loose. For some reason, that's one of the hardest things to find. That, or t-shirts are way too sheer. I don't want to have to wear a camisole under every shirt I wear!

I just got the navy blue, but I'm seriously considering going back and getting it in every color Gap has!

Best of all, it's on sale! In the UK, it's only £9, though I got it in store for £6. In the US, it's $13 - $15!

Does anyone else have any favorite basics? I can't wait to wear these all the time in the US!

  1. These shirts sound so great! I have the same problem with shirts either being too clingy or too loose, and sometimes both in the same shirt, which is even worse.

    1. I may or may not be wearing it as I type this... :) Depending on how loose you'd like the fit to be, I would consider ordering one size down if you'd like just a relaxed fit instead of a more oversized style.
