Scenes from this Weekend (plus some dancing music)

Monday, May 13, 2013

This weekend I visited the house (now museum) where Sigmund Freud lived during the last year of his life after he and his family fled to London from the Nazis in Vienna. Check out the turquoise door!

Then my friend Teresa and I got coffee. I didn't realize my name is hard to spell...or that Emily can be spelled Enimyly.

So this happened while I explored Kensington. Side note: Kensington is my favorite part of London. Fact. Such neat boutiques and stores without being super commercial *cough cough, Oxford street*

A card I was thisclose to buying while exploring Kensington. My dad wouldn't have found it funny, but I just love this type of humor. You wouldn't find this kind of humor in America.

Walking around Green Park with my friend Teresa, and it was gorgeous. How can I leave this?

Next up, this song is I Choose You by Timeflies, and it's a dance song that always makes me feel like grooving, even if I'm in public...so get ready to dance ASAP.

Instagram Update: London Edition

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

I've been talking quite a bit about London (and I promise I will eventually not include it in absolutely everything I post), but I haven't given y'all any visual updates in a while! Here are some Instagram photos I've taken since I've been in this big, cloudy, cold city. By the way, it snowed today. The Southerner in me freaked. out.

Top left to right: Harrods at 5:00 when my friends and I went for tea, my first day of classes (elbow patch) sweater and necklace, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Bridge, me and my certificate saying that I climbed all 311 stairs to the top of the Great Fire of London Monument

TGI freaking F, right?!

I could not be happier this weekend is here! I'm done with my last exams before finals, so after this weekend I'll pretty much be nose deep in accounting and business statistics test books. Before I get into finals mode, though, I'm still reminiscing over my past few weeks. I had so much fun over Thanksgiving on the SC coast that I don't want to admit that it's already ended.

Before Thanksgiving I tried out Essie Sand Tropez and got tons of compliments on it! I hadn't used a neutral color before, so this one was perfect.

While at the beach I went on a couple of boat rides with the family including one where my cousin's daughter completely conked out in my lap. I'm legit obsessed with her. We had Thanksgiving part II that Friday and I think I ate my weight in oysters - I miss it so much!

When I came back to campus this week it was cold and rainy, which was a perfect chance to break out my new rain boots!

Fall has pretty much equaled new socks for me. Target has the most adorable socks ever for like $3 each, which I wear practically every day under my boots. And one of my best friends, Mevy, who is going to London with me, got me a present just because: my I love British boys socks you can see me modeling.

Columbia just got our first Whole Foods (YAAAY FINALLY!) and next to it is a wooden furniture store called Nadau, and it's amazing. My mom and I went in the day it opened and the furniture is so pretty and unique, while still at great prices. I can't wait to get an apartment so that I can shop there!

Of course, I had to take some of the crafting ideas I've found on Pinterest to good use. I painted those pumpkins like three weeks ago and they haven't left my front yard since :)

I can sum up my life over the past few weeks in these few phrases: nail polish, cupcakes (yum), new shoes, earrings, and cold weather! It really is the most wonderful time of the year!

A cupcake from a batch one of my (now favorite) co-workers brought in to work :)
I got these flats from Target and I've been wearing them everywhere! Get these shoes here.

It's finally gotten cold enough- time to break out the hot chocolate and Christmas mugs!
USC beat Georgia last weekend 35-7...and I think this is a 100% accurate description of one of our defensive linesmen

Hope everybody had a good Labor Day Weekend! I should have been doing homework...but obviously that didn't happen. My procrastination gets me yet again.

I spent time with my new friends, thanks to Kate Spade and their giant sale a few weeks ago.
Cuddled with my bff Otis. He's always super happy when I wake him up to take some selfies!
I'm pretty terrible when it comes to painting my own nails, so I was pretty proud of myself for this number. I even got into my fall colors, this one being Size Matters by Essie.
Tried a new recipe I found on Pinterest for Mexican coleslaw. PS- it was really good! Get it here.
Caught up on the giant stack of magazines that have been calling my name lately.
And finally got around to making a recipe book that I've been meaning to make for weeks. I used a free recipe card print out from here!

I also finished painting my bathroom, so I'll be sure to post before and after pics after I'm done re-decorating.
