Oh, Christmas. You got me again.
After spending Christmas day eating (we always start the morning with sausage biscuits!), napping, and spending time with family, I drove down to Beaufort with my parents to spend time with my aunt and uncle and grandparents. Though the coast was a bit cold and rainy the first day, it made for perfect painting weather! My aunt, who paints all the time, offered to paint something for our dining room wall that has been a bit empty since we re-did it back in June. I also got to paint a piece for my own house! Then to cap off the evening we sat down to a formal dinner, candles and everything. Since the sun finally came out Friday we took the afternoon to walk and drive around the island, hence the #backseatselfie.
I loved every minute with my family, but there is definitely something to coming back home and getting back into a routine. To end the holiday festivities, last night we spent some time with family friends playing guitar, drinking good bourbon, and (surprise!) eating delicious food.
Now who is ready to get on the treadmill?!
