Travel With Style - Casey Neistat for J. Crew

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

In case you haven't already heard of him, before this video Casey Neistat could only be described as a badass. Now Neistat can be described as a stylish badass who partners with similarly cool brands to produce unique, badass videos. Needless to say, he's also one of my favorite filmmakers on Youtube. With his latest video, Travel With Style, Neistat partnered with J. Crew to show off their Ludlow suit, all while wearing Vans for J. Crew aboard his neon pink Penny Board.

Watch the video and you'll feel a million times cooler, I promise. While you're at it, here's his Youtube page, and if you've got the time, take a look at his insane office tour.  If you're detail-oriented and super organized, it'll be like heaven.

Thank you for being such an awesome human being, Casey Neistat.

J. Crew Blues

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

I'm the first to admit that I am not very adventurous in my clothing choices. Give me a solid sweater, simple jewelry, and ballet flats and I'm a happy lady. The only patterns I regularly visit are thin stripes or polka dots. The same goes for colors. I mostly wear darks, mostly gray and navy. What can I say? I'm team Mackenzie on this one! #Navyornothing

That's why when I saw these super simple outfits on the J. Crew website for Spring 2014 I had to stop myself from adding each item to my shopping bag! This navy utility jacket is calling to me, and even though I'm not adventurous with patterns, don't you love these silk pants? I feel like with graduation just ahead (I turned in my application yesterday!) I could use a good pair of fancy pants for my foray into the real people world. It's already getting warm in Columbia too, yesterday it got to 70°, so I know those high wasted shorts could definitely become an important part of my wardrobe!

J. Crew November Style Guide

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

I. Am. Dead.

England + J. Crew + coats + layers = Emily in love. If I didn't already love J. Crew before this (haha), they hit the nail on the head with their most recent Style Guide. I can't remember the last time that I flipped through every single page of anything and loved everything...literally, e v e r y t h i n g.

I just can't with this herringbone coat. Really, J. Crew? Herringbone and garnet? What are you trying to do to me?

Check out the color on this coat too. It's insane. It's like J. Crew knew my favorite color and threw it on everything.

A button down, light hoodie, and jacquard pants. Give me all the things!

Coral...the color of my soul.

The denim shirt, the embellishments, the countryside. Le sigh.

And then this precious kid. He already knows he's going to get all the girls when he gets older, right?

Crewcuts Kids

Friday, March 15, 2013

I promise this will be my last exclusively J. Crew post for a while (unless y'all are just as obsessed as I am, in which case I will be more than happy to keep them coming), but HOW cute are these kids?! Congrats to whoever came up with this advertisement for Crew Cuts!

Also, happy Friday, y'all!

Shiny Ponies

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

And now I'm crying because the first London J. Crew doesn't get here until November, and Jenna Lyons is incredible.

Seriously considering applying to the London J. Crew headquarters after I graduate. I have to.
Right? I have to. It has to be done. I have to.

J Crew Spring Lookbook Video

Friday, January 18, 2013

In case you're not on J Crew's email list (HOW DARE YOU), they've emailed us a behind-the-scenes video of the Spring 2013 collection that are so fun! I love getting to see J Crew behind the scenes!

#boys

Sunday, December 30, 2012

Specifically, boys in J Crew. While meticulously flipping through the newest J Crew catalog yesterday (see: my bible) with my mom and sister, I realized some serious differences between my sister and me. First and foremost, I loved the male model and styles they put in the magazine. My sister did not. Clearly she's balls to the wall crazy, but I live with her. She is my blood. Because I can't change that, that means I have to convert her into a logical person like me.

I think this guy looks ridiculously well-dressed, but manly at the same time. My sister says the guy looks like he would rather go shopping than watch a football game. What do y'all think? I would definitely give him my number...if he were to want it. Just in case.

Cyber Monday Buys

Monday, November 26, 2012

Even though shopping is one of my favorite hobbies, I've never been one to shop on Black Friday. Normally I'm at the beach with family anyway, but the crowds and the rush to buy things on sale ASAP just doesn't appeal to me.

This year was different, though. I didn't buy a lot, but what I did buy, I LOVE. Did anyone else grab things they had been eyeing? I missed out on the PowerPlus Mate + J Crew iPhone Battery Charger, but I'm hoping to find one somewhere else!

Did y'all miss out on anything? Had I had all the money in the world I would have bought these babies...

Christmas Wishlist

Monday, November 12, 2012

I always know that it's near Christmas when my dad starts asking for a wishlist. He absolutely insists that my sister and I make them since we all know he would be completely lost shopping for daughters in their teens and twenties.

I usually keep a pretty long list...you know, just to give him some options. I started making mine in October and it's had some serious editing. I have yet to send it to him, but mine currently has six categories and 22 gift options. Like I said, he needs plenty of ideas. This post helped me narrow down my favorites, which made me realize how much J Crew has taken over my life.

What are on y'all's Christmas lists? I wanna know!

Jenna Lyons and J Crew 2013

But really though, how amazing is Jenna Lyons? Those pants? Love her.

Flat Out

Saturday, November 3, 2012

It's hard to believe now, but I went through a big "no flats" phase a few years ago. I thought they made my legs look weird. Though that was legit only like two years ago, I still can't believe I ever thought that. I practically live in ballet flats! That's actually probably the biggest source of spending for me - I always feel like I need more (I mean I do...)! I've found a few favorite brands and styles so I'm thinking I'll have to stock up on more, you know, for London weather.

What do y'all spend your money on most? These are some that I've definitely been eyeing.

Coated

Monday, October 29, 2012

Since there will be an approximate 20 degree difference in London versus in Columbia, SC by the time I go abroad (literally counting the days until January 7th), I've practically been dreaming pretty coats and outwear. Yes, I dream in wool, cashmere, and quilted vests.

In Columbia, and maybe it's just college in general, you can pretty much get away with being really lazy as far as fashion goes...and actually most things as long as it's not USC football. We are serious about our football. At USC the average girl wears a giant oversized t-shirt, norts (Nike shorts for those not familiar with college lingo), and running sneakers until the very last day of fall, when she then exchanges the norts for leggings. It's all about comfort, people.

But I'm trying to do as the Romans do and step up my game. I like dressing nice when I can, but in London I don't think "when I can" will count. If The Sartorialist is an accurate representation of what people dress like (which I believe wholeheartedly it does), I have some serious upgrading to do.

Sweater Weather Fever

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

One reason why I love colder weather is my intense passionate love affair with sweaters. Now that it's starting to get into the 60's and 50's in Columbia (it was 55 degrees Monday!) I've been picking out some of my sweaters from the back of my closet. Of course now I have to go shopping to add to my extensive sweater collection. I'm really digging the polka dots and animal trends and styles going on this season!

On Your Mark...Get Set...GO!

Friday, October 5, 2012

I don't know why both J. Crew and Tory Burch are having a sale on the same weekend but I am TOTALLY OKAY WITH IT YOU GUYS.

Go check them out! GOGOGOGO!
